Purpose
The purpose of Builders Meetings is to bring together development and construction industry experts to collaborate on rebuilding Jasper following the 2024 wildfire. The outcomes of these meetings help shape various aspects of the multi-year process supporting the community of Jasper rebuild. The meetings are jointly hosted by the Municipality of Jasper and Parks Canada.
Upcoming Meetings
The Municipality of Jasper and Parks Canada are hosting more Builders Meetings similar to last year. The meetings will provide an opportunities for the development community to share feedback on:
- What worked well during the 2025 construction season?
- What didn’t work so well during the 2025 construction season?
- What improvements can be made for the 2026 construction season?
February 4, 2026 - 2026 Season Preparation
When: Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Who: A cross-section of people with expertise in building in Jasper:
- Builders and contractors working in Jasper
- Municipality of Jasper
- Parks Canada
- Utilities
Where: Activity Centre (Multi-purpose hall), 303 Bonhomme Street, Jasper
What to expect: Attendees will share quick updates on actions they have been working on since our last meeting on November 28, 2025 (click here for a summary of the workshop). Discussion will then shift to identifying additional actions to further prepare Jasper for the 2026 construction season. (It doesn’t matter if you attended the November meeting or not.)

What happened: The meeting focused on exploring challenges and solutions for achieving efficient and effective redevelopment in Jasper after the wildfire.

Who: Local Builders and Contractors

What happened:
Local builders and contractors identified anticipated logistical and scheduling challenges related to rebuilding. Topics included:
- Shared staging/laydown areas
- Site access and construction road closures
- Servicing/utility installations and coordination
- Waste management
- Environmental protections (through the PRIA)
- Construction impact management (noise, dust etc.)
- Construction site safety
When: Friday, February 7, 2025 from 12:00 - 3:00 PM
Who: Local Builders and Contractors
Where: The Jasper Municipal Library (Quorum Room)
What happened:
Updates were shared about the logistics of rebuilding in Jasper. An overview of the draft Builders Guide was provided. Topics discussed included:
- Staging and storage
- Laydown areas
- Servicing/utility installation and coordination
- Waste management
- Environmental projections (through the PRIA)
- Construction impact management (noise, dust etc)
- Construction site safety
- Road closures
When: Friday, November 28, 2025 at 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Who: A cross-section of people with expertise in building in Jasper:
- Builders and contractors working in Jasper
- Municipality of Jasper
- Parks Canada
- Utilities

What happened: Participants identified what worked well and what did not work well during the 2025 construction season. Solutions were created for the short-term, and for the 2026 construction season.
