Updates

📣 JRCC Launches the Business Recovery Bulletin (BRB)

The Jasper Recovery Coordination Centre is introducing this bulletin to provide business-focused recovery updates from the Municipality of Jasper and Parks Canada’s joint recovery center. Each edition will share new information, programs, and announcements that may affect business operations.

This bulletin is designed for business owners and managers who want direct updates from government partners involved in Jasper’s recovery. It will be issued only when new, relevant information becomes available, so you’ll receive timely updates without unnecessary emails.

To receive future editions directly in your inbox, visit our website page and select “Follow”.

🏠 Winter Staff Housing Program

Fixed-term dorm-style staff housing units at Marmot Meadows remain available for the 2025 winter season, from the time of interest through April 30, 2026. Availability is currently sufficient for businesses to request units as needed rather than reserving in advance. If you anticipate winter staffing needs, please connect with the JRCC to explore options by emailing recoveryhousing@jasper-alberta.ca.

Although this specific program ends April 30, 2026, applicants whose needs persist past this date and who continue to meet the eligible resident definition as outlined here can be added to the queue for the Annual Interim Housing Program.

🏗️ Pop-Up Village and Interim Industrial Park

The Pop-Up Village will remain partially active through winter to help maintain business visibility and customer traffic during the slower season.

The Interim Industrial Park continues to support businesses that lost commercial space in the S-Block area.

Businesses who lost their commercial space due to the 2024 wildfire may apply for space in one of our various interim spaces.

Public lay-down areas are also open for businesses and contractors requiring material or equipment storage during rebuild efforts, regardless of whether they lost commercial space or not.

📊 Economic Impact & Opportunity Assessment

The Jasper Park Chamber of Commerce, Tourism Jasper, Community Futures West Yellowhead, and the Jasper Employment & Education Centre are partnering on the 2024 Jasper Wildfires Economic Impact and Opportunity Assessment. The study will measure economic impacts, identify recovery opportunities, and develop a framework to guide decision-making as Jasper rebuilds.

As part of this work, the consultant is surveying local businesses to better understand economic conditions, challenges, and priorities. All Jasper businesses are encouraged to participate to ensure the findings reflect the full business community.
